This section of the website aims to outline the policies of the Technological District for Polymer and Composite Materials Engineering and Structures (IMAST), pursuant to EU Regulation 2016/679 (hereinafter referred to as the “Regulation”), regarding the processing of personal data collected while browsing the official website of the District.

Information Notice on the Processing of Personal Data on the IMAST Website

WHY THIS NOTICE

This notice describes how the official IMAST website manages the processing of personal data relating to identified or identifiable users who browse and interact with it and with the web services accessible electronically. The notice is provided pursuant to Article 13 of EU Regulation 2016/679 and is inspired by Recommendation no. 2/2001 concerning minimum requirements for the online collection of personal data within the European Union, adopted on 17 May 2001 by the Working Party established under Article 29 of Directive 95/46/EC.

In particular, this notice is intended to provide information regarding the methods, timing, and nature of the information that the Data Controller must provide to users when they connect to web pages, regardless of the purpose of the connection. This notice applies only to the official IMAST website and not to any external websites that may be consulted by the user via links.

PURPOSE OF PROCESSING – LEGAL BASIS

The IT systems and software procedures used to operate this website acquire, during their normal operation, certain personal data whose transmission is implicit in the use of Internet communication protocols.

This information is not collected to be associated with identified individuals, but by its very nature could, through processing and association with data held by third parties, allow users to be identified.

This category includes IP addresses or domain names of computers used by users connecting to the website, URI (Uniform Resource Identifier) addresses of requested resources, the time of the request, the method used in submitting the request to the server, the size of the file obtained in response, the numerical code indicating the status of the response given by the server, and other parameters relating to the user’s operating system and IT environment. These data are used solely to obtain anonymous statistical information on website usage and to ensure its proper functioning, and are retained only for the time strictly necessary. The data may also be used to ascertain responsibility in the event of cybercrimes against the website.

The optional, explicit, and voluntary sending of emails to the addresses indicated on this website results in the subsequent acquisition of the sender’s address, necessary to respond to requests, as well as any other personal data included in the message.

PROVISION OF DATA AND PROCESSING METHODS

Providing data is mandatory, and refusal to do so makes it impossible to receive information requested from the District. Data subjects nevertheless retain the right at any time to request removal from email communication services.

Processing will be carried out by individuals responsible for the relevant procedure and designated as authorized data processors. The collected data are not disclosed to third parties, except where the data may be known to subjects involved in the management procedure who are appropriately identified and, where necessary, appointed as Data Processors.

Personal data are processed using automated tools for the time strictly necessary to achieve the purposes for which they were collected. Specific security measures are observed to prevent data loss, unlawful or incorrect use, and unauthorized access.

What are cookies?
