The AMICO project aims to promote, in various application sectors, new production concepts characterized by additive technologies that guarantee the possibility of creating, at low costs, products that can be manufactured using even complex and high-added-value materials, such as composite materials.
Specifically, in the aeronautics sector, hybrid technologies will be developed for the production of components with complex geometries, with the possibility of leveraging two or more technologies, for example, by combining traditional and non-traditional processes in an integrated system designed to ensure improved production times. In the missile sector, the aim is to expand the application range of additive technologies by creating multi-material (metal/ceramic) structures.
In the automotive sector, additive technologies will be used for the production of composite components in high volumes. For the pharmaceutical sector, the use of additive technologies, based on electrofluid dynamic processes, is proposed as an innovative and alternative solution for optimizing the properties and development of an active pharmaceutical ingredient and its release methods.
