The project aimed to develop polymeric materials, processes, and device architectures to create electricity generators that exploit: renewable energy sources such as solar; sources derived from energy not exploited by the receivers for which they are intended and which would therefore be wasted as electromagnetic sources (e.g., GSM/UMTS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, DECT, GPS, DVB-T, radar signals); and waste heat from combustion processes.
Specifically, the project aimed to study and develop three types of generators:
- DSSC and organic polymer photovoltaic cells
- Thermoelectric cells for waste heat recovery
- Antenne flessibili e miniaturizzate per recupero di energia da onde elettromagnetiche
