Incoming Mission on more traditional application sectors in Bari

What happens when you step inside the world of Additive Manufacturing? On January 30th, 2025, over 25 participants from Albania, Montenegro, Molise, and Puglia set out on a journey to explore how 3D printing is transforming traditional industries. This wasn’t just a tour: it was an opportunity to see innovation in action.

The event took us to companies and research laboratories that are integrating AM into their operations in different ways.

Our journey began with XYZ Tecno 3D srl, that showed how the use of SLS, SLA and FDM technologies to produce traditional components such as the water distribution nozzle, the capsule treatment system, an air flow valve and the frame for electro-medical devices enables size optimization with shapes not achievable with other technologies, customized snap-fit assembly system, short delivery times and low costs.

Next, we visited Roboze Spa plant where 3D printers are produced. Here we also had the opportunity to see how Roboze technology is applied not only to high tech sectors but also to the packaging, manufacturing and medical sectors.

Then, we were introduced to Adler Ortho Spa, a leader in orthopedic solutions. By using AM technologies like EBM (Electron Beam Melting), SLM (Selective Laser Melting) and DMLS (Direct Metal Laser Sintering) Adler Ortho is creating customized orthopedic implants that are tailored to individual patient needs, revolutionizing healthcare with every print.

Finally, the Politecnico di Bari opened its doors to reveal cutting-edge research happening in the world of AM. Their laboratories are a hub of innovation where students and researchers are diving deep into topics like rapid prototyping and soft robotics.

Beyond technology, this mission was about building connections: between companies, researchers, and entrepreneurs who share a vision for a stronger, cross-border AM ecosystem.

We’d like to thank all the companies and experts who generously shared their time and knowledge, and thank you to all the participants who added their own insights and perspectives, making the mission all the more valuable.

Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to share the outcomes from this initiative!

This mission is part of the AMTECH project, funded by the Interreg IPA South Adriatic program.
